Sirius spends on average $131 to get a single subscriber to sign up for its services. The monthly subscription fee is $12. Assuming that they make a 65% margin, that would give them $7.80 margin per month per subscriber. At the current acquisition cost, this means that they have to keep a customer for almost 17 months before that subscriber becomes profitable! (ignoring any profit from the actual hardware). That's a long time.
