Sorry about all these airline posts – but I fly a lot and the airlines give me plenty to write about! What is it that airlines know about i-Pods that I don’t? What are the special destructive powers of this little device? I am now VERY aware that I am not supposed to have my i-Pod on while on the ground waiting to taxi for takeoff. I think the flight attendant on this flight has a mini camera pointed right at me. We were something like 47th in line for takeoff and I thought I would listen to a quick song before putting the i-Pod away and – BAM – the flight attendant appeared out of nowhere (I think he actually may have descended from the overhead compartment!) and scolded me for ignoring his lengthy instructions.
Can someone please explain why we can’t have our little devices or cell phones on? Can they really create interference? How many people have phones or Blackberry’s in their carry-ons that they forget to turn off on every flight? If they were really that dangerous, wouldn’t terrorists be boarding planes with carry-on bags filled with cell phones and mp3 players? And if they are so dangerous why do they let people get on the planes with them?
